The Beijing Brain Conference is a premier international academic forum in brain science, jointly initiated by the Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing (CIBR), in partnership with leading institutions in China and worldwide dedicated to brain science and brain-inspired research. Established in 2020, the conference has been successfully held for 3 editions. To date, it has brought together more than 250 leading scientists and early-career researchers from countries and regions including the United States, Germany, Japan, and Australia. Distinguished speakers have included four Nobel laureates and twelve academicians. With a cumulative audience of nearly two million participants online and onsite, the conference has grown into a prominent platform for showcasing cutting-edge advances in brain science and fostering international exchange and collaboration.

The 4th Beijing Brain Conference will be held from August 14 to 16, 2026, at the Lecture Hall, Building B, West Zone of Changping Laboratory. Co-hosted by CIBR and Nature Portfolio, this year’s conference is themed From Molecules to Circuits: Toward Interventions for Brain Disorders. Focusing on multi-scale mechanistic insights and translational applications, the program will feature 6 thematic sessions: Neurodevelopmental Disorders: From Genetics to Mechanisms; Neural Mechanisms of Psychiatric Disorders; Neurodegeneration and Brain Aging; Neural Injury and System Dysfunction; Brain-Computer Interfaces and Neuroengineering; and Therapeutic Strategies in Brain Medicine. A dedicated Young Scientists Forum will also be held. The conference is expected to bring together approximately 800 participants in total. To foster interaction among early-career researchers, a poster session will be organized throughout the conference, providing valuable opportunities for onsite academic exchange.
