HFSPO Career Development Award to Dr. Ying Li
Dr. Ying Li, who joined CIBR as a Principal Investigator in September of 2019, has received a Career Development Award from The International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO), one of five Chinese researchers to receive this prize and work in mainland China since 2003.
The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) is an international program that funds innovative and cutting-edge research at the frontiers of the life sciences. The Career Development Award is given to support former HFSP Fellows who return to their home country or move to a third HFSP member country as an independent investigator during early stages of their career.
Dr. Li studies the neuronal processing of social information in freely behaving animals. Her lab uses the latest brain imaging and single-cell sequencing techniques to understand how environmental social cues are represented in the brain and how emotion influences sensory perception and behavior. Her research was highlighted in the press release for the 2019 HFSP Career Development Awards:

The Li Lab is now recruiting new talent with backgrounds and interests across all areas of biology, neuroscience, computer science, and engineering (in particular electrophysiology, imaging, cell and molecular biology, and computational neuroscience). We are currently accepting applications for Postdoctoral Fellows, Graduate students, and technicians. Undergraduates seeking to gain research experience are also encouraged to apply.
