About the Lab
We are a research group at the Chinese Institute for Brain Research (CIBR), Beijing, investigating how the brain learns and performs complex cognitive functions—such as language processing—by combining animal experiments with AI-based modeling.
We are looking for an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Lab Manager to support the daily operation of the lab. This is a great opportunity to join an international research team and contribute to exciting work in neuroscience and AI.

About the PI
Dr. Ohmae earned his M.D. from Kyoto University in 2004 and his Ph.D. from Juntendo University in 2008. He conducted postdoctoral research at Hokkaido University and the University of Pennsylvania and later served as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received an NIH R34 grant. He investigates neocortico-cerebellar cognitive functions such as sequence and language processing, using large-scale neuronal recordings and AI-based modeling. Since March 2024, he has been serving as an Assistant Investigator at the Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing (CIBR).
Job Opportunity: Lab Manager – Neuroscience Research Team
Job Description:
1. reimbursements, inventory management, and document organization.
2. Help with scheduling, meetings, visitor arrangements, recruitment, and onboarding.
3. Support communication and coordination within the lab and with outside collaborators, and help keep projects on track.
4. Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment.
5. Depending on the candidate's background and interests, the role may also include document preparation, writing support, and basic research assistance.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or above
2. Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, for daily work (the PI uses English in daily communication).
3. Strong organizational skills, a responsible attitude, and careful attention to detail
4. Ability to work well with researchers and staff
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in lab management, university administration, or research support
2. Experience in academic writing support, editing, or handling bilingual documents
3. Experience with animal experiments, data organization, or other research support tasks
