Lab Manager Opportunities: Join the Ni Ji lab at CIBR!

2025-12-22Page Views:642

About the Lab

The Ji Lab is dedicated to understanding the neural computational mechanisms that enable the brain to perform perceptual decision-making, active exploration, and efficient learning in complex environments. By integrating cross-species (animal and human) behavioral and neural experiments with dynamical systems modeling, theoretical analysis, and deep learning tools, we aim to uncover the key principles underlying the brain's superior cognitive flexibility, efficiency, and robustness in decision-making—principles that currently surpass artificial intelligence. Building on these insights, we also develop biologically inspired AI algorithms with real-world applications.

About the PI

Dr. Ji is a PI and Doctoral Supervisor at CIBR. She earned her Ph.D. from MIT and completed postdoctoral training and served as a Senior Scientist at Harvard University and MIT. Her research has revealed fundamental principles of robustness and flexibility in biological networks underlying perception, decision-making, and motor control. Her work has been published as first (including co-first) or corresponding author in top-tier journals and conferences such as Cell, ICLR, PNAS, and eLife. Her lab is supported by multiple grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Key Program), and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Innovation Fund.
