About the Lab
Ohmae Lab studies how the brain controls behavior and cognition, with a particular focus on the neocortex and cerebellum. Using mouse experiments, neural recordings, and computational approaches, we investigate how the brain learns and processes information. We are looking for a technician to support mouse care, breeding, behavioral training, and animal experiments in our lab. This is a hands-on role that involves daily work with laboratory mice. This position is suitable for someone who is careful, responsible, and comfortable working with laboratory animals on a daily basis. We welcome candidates who would like to contribute to neuroscience research in a collaborative lab environment.
Job Description:
1. Daily care and handling of laboratory mice;
2. Mouse breeding and colony maintenance;
3. Conducting behavioral training for mice and routine experimental procedures;
4. Supporting researchers in experiments;
5. Helping maintain an organized lab environment;
6. Carry out other tasks as assigned by the lab.
Qualifications:
1. Hands-on experience with mouse handling and daily husbandry;
2. Basic English communication skills, both spoken and written;
3. A responsible, careful, and reliable work attitude, with strong teamwork skills;
4. Strong compliance with protocols and reliable record-keeping;
5. Bachelor's degree or above.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with post-operative care, water restriction management, and behavioral training;
2. Interest in neuroscience research and animal behavior;
3. Experience with genotyping.
